G'day guys,
Well some of you will know that I just built myself a new Hastings rod and today I christened it with a new P.B.
I fished Pt Gawler creek this morning and as it was my first time there I thought I'd take a good look around and follow the tide in and out and see what I could find.
I got a few sambo trout early and 2 bream that went 30 and 33 cms.
Then while drifting back with the tide I heard the unmistakable slurping boof of a bream taking something off of the surface. I spun around and threw the sx48 on to the mark where the ripples still were and got instantly SMASHED ;D.
So after a good couple of minutes and a hard fight I had him in the net and in the yak.
He's my P.B for a Bream and he went just over 45cm ;D ;D.
Well I know what he was doing up the creek as he left it all down my arm but I reckon he'll have enough left for all the little girl fishes.
After letting him go I checked out the brand new lure and it was really battle scared but that's what it's all about.
Well you may ask how the rod went, well I'm that pleased with it that I just might have to treat myself to another one. It throws sx40's into tight cover brilliantly and soft plastics aswell. When it loaded up with the fish on it felt so sensitive and you could feel every head shake and bump. You might say that if a fish farted on the way past my lure, I would have felt that too .
That was my morning while you all were at work and I now have to go back again and see if I can crack that 50cm mark, well there's no harm in dreaming .
Cheers Darren
