hello everybody, great to see a dedicated SA kayak site. AKFF SA is assurance that there is a need for something specifically SA. my ride is a 4.5 OK prowler. i have added a few things to make life a little more comfortable and easier whilst on the water. as the necessityy a rises i shall add more bits and pieces. sometimes the pockets are just too shallow. i find my yak to be quite nice to paddle, and stable. Have had my son out with me for a paddle. sat him in the front hatch on a pillow. He had quite the time despite the chop and him getting rather wet. we shall have him catching his first fish or squid very soon. now that the weather is warming up and days a little longer should find me hitting the water a little more regularly. although i live west of the city i still prefer to travel south, brighton seacliff, hallett cove. main reason is the beach acess and nice water for the kids and the missus if they join me on an outing. have only met gator before and that was at binks and not on the water. so perhaps a sunday (really my only free day, weekdays after 1pm are also free as i work nights only) meet would be good if anyone is free ?? shall post some pics of my yak when i find them. anywho see you out on the big blue all the best adam

Welcome adam. Yet another Prowler elite hits the site then. They would have to be up there with the best of them. What sort of yak fishing interests you? I am imagining the standard of the south, squid, snook, ST, whiting? Hopefully you will be able to make it to the first gathering, which i think will be on Nov 1st (edited, wrong date, sorry guys!), at Somerton.

cheers fishnfreak (rob) thanks for the welcome..... any fishing is good fishin' in my books. just happy to get out there. never have expectations of what i might like to catch. always looking for advice or help on targeting certain species. usually comes down to knowing where and when to fish to optimise catch chances. unfortunately i dont get out that often to accumulate the necessary local experience to make this possible. sunday nov. 2nd is looking free for me at this time. hopefully get some practice in before then. does anyone fish during the week? ? what about golf? just thought i wouldask i am always keen to get out when the weather is good, so if any one needs a follower just ask.

Welcome aboard Adam. Don't listen to fishnfreak, he doesn't even know the dates of our meet and greets! It's the 1st rather than the 2nd, I'm sorry to say. I think Drew might be a golfer. I fish when weather permits and I am free, usually in the mornings though as the wind often picks up in the arvo. I'm sure we'll be able to meet up soon.
Thanks for joining us!

fishnfreak: ONLY YOUR CALENDER? ? Kidding aside: welcome Adam, good to see you on board. Once my yak is back in the water I am usually open to a weekday fish. Being retired an all. You guys keep the economy going and I will sit back and enjoy your efforts
