Popped out for a spin with Drew and Paul today at Pt. Willy. They'd already hit the water by the time I rocked up and I headed out to meet them .
There was a significant number of nice whiting at he launch site and we totally ignored them and headed out to the Aldinga Reserve marker buoy. All of us had the same sounder so it was great for comparing and with us spread in a line (mostly) we headed out looking for the structure that used to be available out side of the reserve . No joy .
The most recent reserve move has swallowed another of my childhood fishing spots. (If they were so concerned they could have helped things tremendously by taking someone's netting license long ago.)
After some zigging and zagging we made it to the buoy where Drew discovered some thing interesting about his shark shield ...lol. We fished for a while with no joy and Paul took off for a function. ( No not bodily as far as we know ). Drew and I headed back in and had a look at the Star of Greece for fish ....No joy . We headed over to Lion's reef and had a look at squid ....no joy . Drew did see a strongy....lol...And judging by the excitement hadn't seen one before...lol....had a go for it .....no joy .
So we headed back to the launch zone and made an uneventful landing .
There we were grilled on yak fishing by some very interested looking folk who probably thought I had a lazy eye but it was far from lazy ;D ....So many young scantily clad distractions ....lol .....no joy . We packed up and headed off to Aldinga for some thing to eat and it was excellent.
For a trip with so little joy I had a great day.....Thanks guys. Next time we should do Sellick's.
Cheers
Mike
